Re: Gearing up
Was wondering,
1) Does booth need to have blanket covering overhead?
2) How should I send the test recording file?

Once we do a test file, we can consider adding a blanket over the top of the Gobo. If the room noise is reduced without it, then you can just leave it off. I will PM you the link to upload the files. Do one with just room tone, (total silence) and do one with you speaking normally. Make them both about 20 seconds, recorded @ 44.1 in a wav format. Do not alter these files in any way.

Hi, I am here at my studio today. I will be here for a little while, so I hope you will be able to see this before I leave. Otherwise, it will just be done later!!
Question- I do not understand what 44.1 is. Do you mean Hz? If so, mine is currently set at 44100. Is that the same thing?

Home now. I'm sorry, I should have just gone ahead and done it anyway. I got smart and looked it up and found that it is the same thing.
It WILL be coming...
I have to say that I did do a little Librivox work this afternoon and it does sound so much better!!

That is wonderful! Take a pic and show it off if you want to. Sorry about the 44.1 thing. Sometimes I forget that others can not read my shorthand! yahoothestorygirl wrote: ↑Wed May 09, 2018 6:41 pmI have to say that I did do a little Librivox work this afternoon and it does sound so much better!!

I've got 'em done-- you said DO NOT ALTER. Is it okay to cut off the beginning and ending of recordings? [knocking about first, shuffling, doorknob, etc.]

Don't do anything. Just send them. How far is the door from your mic? The beginning and ending are called the "Head & Tail" when it comes to audio files.

salute
Squeaky door sound effects sounds like that old radio show "Inner Sanctum".
And then, because the heater often turns on, I recorded a clip while it was running, for good measure rimshot

I would show you the picture of the booth, but I'm not sure how to do that on here.
