Review my voice over
Hey,
Not sure if this is the correct place to post this, if not sorry and please re-direct me!
Attached is my commercial demo. I was thinking about sending it out to various agencies but not sure if it's good enough?
Any feedback concerning the read or the sound quality is much appreciated!
Thanks,
Hannah

You sound awesome. You may want to also provide a copy with just your voice. Most of the time the background audio is added after the vocal is recorded. You sound just like the real person that did the gum commercial. Edit: I just had a chance to run your audio through Reaper as well as Orban. Your noise floor in between takes is quite high, at around -34dbs. You may want to see about using a 100hz roll off filter as well as setting a gate threshold to around a -32dbs.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TY0S2zqvcU8Fun Fact: The celebrities that appear in commercials for Orbit Gum change, but one name that stays the same in all the Orbit Gum ads is the perky blonde in the 60’s-style, white outfit. In case you’re wondering, she’s an English actress named Vanessa Branch. If you think you recognize her, she played “Giselle” in the movie “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End”.

Hey Dana, thanks so much for taking the time!
What do you mean by inbetween takes?

Sorry, I used the wrong word. I meant tracks. When you made your vocal recordings, you had a great deal of noise recorded with them. I am assuming that after you recorded your vocals, you then added the background music. If you did do it that way, it is impossible to go back and try to remove/gate the background noise that was recorded in the original vocal track. In your case, you took 6 tracks I think, and rendered them as one file. That is the file you placed on SC. You need to clean each original voice track before you add any background tracks to them.
Once you embed any layover tracks, you no longer can go back and edit the final mix. You want your noise floor to be as low as possible. The ACX requires a -60db max. Your file is +12dbs louder then the ACX max. If you send your audio file to someone who uses a program that checks for background noise before a human will listen to it, then your file will never be heard. That is what the ACX does. If your file can not pass their automated program that detects BG noise, then it is rejected without moving to the next step, which is to have a live person listen to your audition. Please see the pic below.
