I am a bit desparate about this problem too.
I don't want to " Go Outside " this forum but I am also including other ways of reaching me in case stuff goes wrong.
I can be contacted on Facebook as Sam Waylen ( Edinburgh)
although, of course I would prefer to receive a reply through these pages.
To Begin...... I do not have the FIRST FLEEING CLUE as to how to get the simplest answer to such an easy - peasy question that I feel a 3 year old could solve.
M-Audio ( My external Sound Card supplier ) bounce me back and forth with questions about my MKII M- Audio soundcard the data details of which I am either locked out from, because of hackers interfering with my original email account,or which have to be specially authorised, via my Online Banking Site because of their antiquity.
All I want to do is to temporarily switch off M-Audio, from time to time, so that I can use the Windows Speech Recognition Software that came with my DELL P.C.
I run Windows Pro 7 and added the external soundcard, with some help, later on.I have a feeling that my Control Panel will be a good starting point but the choices are bewildering.
I have a cheap headset Microphone(stereo),that I would like to use,but there is no response at all when I plug it into the front of my PC. what do other folk in this circumstance do ? Or am I the only person in the world who wants to make recordings of Music via the M Audio Soundcard as well as use the speech to text facility supplied by Windows in between times ......seriously....Peace and Love....And if you can answer this and are ever in Edinburgh....I will buy you a Pint out of gratitude Sam
